Dreamweaver MX Assignment - Week1 @ LVS Online

a.k.a. Episode 1 - Disaster Strikes!

"Once upon a time, in a land far far away, there lived a beautiful princess - know far and wide for her laziness, yet loved by, um... thinking... oh yeah - her cat . Her name was 'The Slacker' (you have to capitalize 'The' because it's a royal title and all, wink wink).

"One day an evil wizard[ess] , accompanied by an unusual flying creature , descended upon the land and dragged the beautiful princess high into a tower room with nothing in it but a computer -- the better to force the beautiful princess to do something called 'homework' (?). You can imagine her shock... not a television or Star Trek episode in sight!

"When our heroine, The Slacker, recovered from the swoon brought on by these dire circumstances, she set her mind to how to get out of doing... er she set her mind to figuring out how to do as little as um .....

What did we learn in Episode 1?

There are 6 - count them! - levels of <h#> tags!
The  tag is your friend, not just a pain to fiddle with when doing homework.
It's probably time to get with the program and use  and  instead of  and .
That when I used the nbsp; on my Index page in Lesson Part 4 I was only working ahead a little bit.
A new use of the  tag .... I will now pester the instructor by adding secret notes !
If I insert the date and/or time on my pages, my clients will have proof of how lazy I am about updating!
Dreamweaver has a neat shooting game built-in! (For selecting hyperlinks from the Site Panel, silly.)
That debbieT won't yell at me for using the Margin settings in Page Properties... at least until I start using 0.
Using Dreamweaver for <ul> and <ol> is much less of a strain than coding them by hand.
And lots more... most of it used on the index page for this homework site. ;-)

Now if we could only save our preferred panel arrangements! sigh.
